About Obesity in Context
Obesity in Context began with questions emerging from our clinical work.
We were meeting people whose experiences of obesity, binge eating and care did not always fit neatly within the models, treatment recommendations or service boundaries around them.
The more we talked, the more interested we became in what changes when we widen the lens — bringing biological, psychological, social and healthcare contexts into the same conversation.
The initial thinking was developed collaboratively by Dr Esme Banting, Dr Denise Ratcliffe and Dr Hannah Jerome. Esme and Denise have since created Obesity in Context as a home for continuing that thinking, sharing ideas and inviting others into the conversation.
